Looking for a different way to teach STEM concepts? Join us at Creative Lab for professional development with a difference.

Creative Lab teacher professional development program helps teachers to guide their students into an innovative future.

During the workshop you will learn through new, engaging strategies that use creative teaching methodologies to teach STEM subjects. Unlike other PD programs, you’ll also have access to Queensland Museum objects and exhibitions, and get a chance to meet with STEM professionals.

Investigate engagement strategies and cooperative learning to help increase your students’ participation and performance in STEM subjects and explore creative solutions to everyday problems.

Friday 14 – Saturday 15 October 2016

Queensland Museum, Corner of Grey and Melbourne Streets, South Bank Cultural Precinct, South Brisbane. You will rotate through three workshops designed to connect you with museum objects and industry professionals while working through STEM engagement strategies you can implement in the classroom.

You will draw on your experiences from Day One to develop classroom learning activities and receive feedback from our expert panellists. You will share, collaborate and evaluate with other participants.

Future Makers
Future Makers, a partnership between natural gas producer QGC and Queensland Museum Network, aims to address Queensland students’ declining enrolments and performance in STEM subjects, and create a whole-of-life approach to STEM education.

Step Up
Step Up seeks to transform the nature and delivery of mathematics and science pre-service secondary teacher education in Queensland using cross-institutional and cross-disciplinary collaborations.

Engineers without Borders work with communities to create social value through engineering.
